T-shirts & Other Apparel

T-shirts, hats, visors, bandanas, and embroidered outerware are all great ideas for helping to promote your business. They are often also made for teams, groups, clubs, and organizations for all sorts of various events. They are basically moving billboards that look great and last a long time.

There are three basic methods of imprinting on clothing, and some options may only be available depending on the garment in question. First, and probably most common is embroidery.

Embroidery is simply defined as 'decorative needlework', though the designs that one can create using embroidery are significantly more involved and detailed than the description. Unfortunately the setup charge for doing embroidery is generally about $75, which makes doing short runs fairly expensive. But the results are beautiful and last for years.

The second most common method is screen printing a design onto the garment. This involves a setup charge as well, but you can get far more coverage for significantly cheaper of a price. Screen printing also tends to last for a good long time.

Lastly is by using a transfer that is basically printed onto and then transferred using heat from an iron or Tshirt press. Transfers as readily available to the general public and can be bought in packs of ten or so at just about any retail outlet. You then print directly onto them using any standard inkjet printer. They include instructions on how to iron them. Iron-on transfers should only really be used if money is really tight, there are only a few to be made, and/or quality is NOT an issue. Transfers, though they can be printed in any amount of colors for the same price, tend to not last very long and are generally considered to be more of a craft item and less of a professional product. Industrial grade transfers and processes are available, and are generally a bit better than consumer grade, but we still recommend the other two options first.
