Welcome to my official site!

My name is Nick J. Steglich if you couldnt guess... I am a talented and very motivated individual looking to work some creative magic and make some really sweet artwork. I have been at this graphic design stuff for about 12 years. I started making websites about 6 years ago. I feel that I am a traditionalist when it comes to website development because I believe in using systems that are proven to work. I feel its just that other designers have really just given up on trying to make things original without using all sorts of new tricks. Where's the creativity gone, right?

As far as where I come from - I was born Nicolas Jerel Steglich on July 27, 1975 at Salem Hospital in Salem Massachusetts. I was to be the first of two kids in my abnormally stable family. Sure there were always the problems of being kids and growing up, especially in the town of Marblehead where we called home. But we turned out pretty okay and my family is still together, still struggling, but most importantly, still happy. I find that we are usually the odd ones out if for no other reason than we are the ones that think a distinctly different way about life. Its something I cherish as the thing that most makes me me.

I also have a great group of friends who I call family as well. They have all contributed to making me who I am, offering inspiration in so many different ways. I started a business of sorts with a few of them called Focus Power, which is a self-proclaimed Freelance Collective - basically a way to market a group of talented minds as one entity. It has brought some great clients and some wonderful experience in the industry. And in fact, I think so highly of my circle of friends, I created the Holmes-Page, one of my crowning achievements, in their honor.

So lets see... work, family, and friends... I think I covered mostly all of it except for the fact that I love to do just about anything, and given the time to do so, I would. Most of all, I love to snowboard and am a veteran of 15 years this year. I also love to skateboard and rock climb. And aside from those, I sometime find the time to dance, draw, sew, build, play pool, make short films and animations, build and refinish furniture, make signs, work on the children's book I am writing, and very occasionally - sleep.

I invite you to come on into my site and read a little more about me and my history. You can also see several examples of artwork and websites that I have produced. And of course, you can learn how to contact me.
