CD and Enhanced Audio CD
One of the cool
new trends with audio CD's is to make them 'Enhanced.' This
means that there is an extra track on the CD that contains
data for a multimedia presentation. When the CD is in a regular
CD player, all you get are the tracks/songs, but when you
put it in a computer's CD-ROM drive, you are treated to a
multimedia experience. This is really cool for putting digitized
video of interviews with band members, digitized video of
live shows, links to websites and multimedia games. Two cool
examples of enhanced CDs are Primus' Tales From the Punchbowl
and Sarah McLachlan's Surfacing, though it is far more
common in albums these days.
Replication
and Packaging
Once you have your
CD product ready to go, you will undoubtedly want to reproduce
it and sell them or give them away for promotional materials.
We can do a short run for you, but often the result will be
far more gratifying and significantly cheaper per piece to
do a larger run. The process is such that a Glass Master is
made from the lossless files that we provide on DAT or other
such digital format and copies are made from that. The plant
can then print the cover art that we have designed and formatted
for their needs, assemble the cases with the CDs in them,
and shrink wrap the whole package. So you receive professionally
made, pre-packaged items ready to be sold. And there are a
variety of different packaging methods that you can choose
from such as standard jewel cases, DVD style plastic cases,
double-disc formats, cardboard sleeves, etc. So if you are
interested in receiving a full CD packaging quote, please
let us know and we will get on it immediately.
