Animation
Animation is quickly
becoming the most influential form of visual art. With movies
like Toy Story, A Bug's Life, and Antz, 3D animation has found
a comfortable place in society, while animated GIFs and other
2D animation have been ruling the web. It takes a long time
and a lot of training to learn how to create good animation
using traditional techniques - training that we here at Focus
Power have, so you don't have to go back to school.
One of the major
advantages of animation versus traditional art and acting
is that once a character or other element has been built,
it can be used over and over again and therefore end up saving
money in the long run. There has been talk in the industry
of 3D animated characters almost completely taking over for
live actors in movies. As graphics continue to advance and
become more realistic, we are likely to see this beginning
to happen. Why? Well for starters, digital characters never
age, get arrested, or get fat. Also because they dont need
stunt doubles or overly expensive wardrobes. And most of all
because you are far more likely to get a successful and inexpensive
voice actor than a live actor.
The head of our
animation department, Nick Steglich, has been animating for
approximately 10 years and has taught a graduate level animation
project at UMass Amherst every semester for the last 6. He
has worked on all levels of the animation industry from modeling
to animation, directing to voice acting, special effects to
linear and non-linear editing. He has experience in just about
all forms or traditional and digital animation as well. Currently
he is working on a personal project involving a side-by-side
animation and children's book which is sure to be a success!
If you are interested
in animation to help promote your business, or if you have
an idea for a cool animated short or full-length movie, and
would like to discuss your options, please dont hesitate to
contact
us. We will be happy to help you.
